Group Description:
The Blackwater Coven is a traditional Gardnerian Wiccan coven open to Seekers 21 years and older. Initiates of the tradition are also welcome to inquire. Traditional training leading up to initiation typically lasts a year and a day, though initiation is never guaranteed.

Training includes exploring traditional Wiccan practices, spellwork, meditation, energy work, psychic development, celebration of the sabbats and esbats, and more.

We are a Wiccan-based (BASED - Not Wiccan exclusive) Coven in Virginia that also embraces our member's Norse, Pagan and Heka heritage. Even though we are Wiccan base, we are open to all paths. Our Coven is recognized as a Religious Denominational Organization in the state of Virginia. We are also recognized as a Religious organization and 501c3 at the federal level.
The Appalachian Mountains have helped shape much of the region's culture, beliefs, and the legacy of granny witches as faith healers. We are the descendants of those granny witches...

We are here to support and celebrate Virginia’s diverse community. No matter if your beliefs are Atheist, Polytheist, somewhere in between or have none at all. We are here to preserve and maintain the dignity and honor of being a Pagan, Witch, Healer, Heathen, Earth Child, all around accountable human beings and good stewards of Earth.
We believe that in a world where the technology that drives our society and the currency that circulates it can fail at any given moment, the Practices and teachings of our Ancestors are more important than ever and must be preserved. We value the beliefs, sacred or profane, of all Practitioners.
Although we focus on the root Paths of Virginia Practice, all Paths are honored and respected amongst everyone in our Society as we expect the same in return. We provide a safe and welcoming community to celebrate and commune together free of judgment and political banter. We support our community in many ways, from supporting events to donating to our fund-raising partners and working with our vetted businesses.
